Boone Engagement Session: Brittany and Evan

What’s better than being at Moses Cone Manor off the Blue Ridge Parkway near Boone, NC on a crisp, sunny day in the middle of peak season? Getting engagement photos on a day like that with a couple this sweet. (Their pups were just icing on the cake!)

Brittany and Evan met through friends and are planning to get married next November. The timing of their engagement and wedding planning allowed them the unique opportunity to have engagement photos made in the same season as their wedding. Plus, any time you can a North Carolina autumn, it’s a winner.

If you think these two look downright adorable together, you’re right. Evan said this about Brittany: “The thing I love most about her is her everlasting smile. The smile I can see from across a room and the smile that I picture in my head every time I close my eyes to blink or to go to bed. Her smile just emits a magnificent glow and aura that can’t be matched by anything else.” (#mush) Brittany also said she love’s Evan’s “calm nature, loving support, and smile. The way he is goofy to make me laugh. The way he continuously has my back. That every day he becomes my best friend more and more. His hardworking nature and desire to take care of me and ensure I have everything I need and want. How he still gives me butterflies after all this time. How he can read me better than anyone and knows exactly what to do in every situation. How he challenges me to be my best and provides me with new experiences. Knowing that he will be the man I met at the end of the isle, start a life with, grow old with and continuously learn from.”

Thanks you two. Now we all have butterflies. 🙂

Hawkesdene Wedding: Ranell and Troy

Ranell and Troy are two of the classiest, kindest and hospitable people we’ve worked with, and on their wedding day, they were surrounded by similar people. It made for a seamlessly calm and fun atmosphere, and with an intimate setting like that at Hawkesdene, it made for one of the sweetest wedding days we’ve witnessed. Celebrating their Scottish heritage proved only to add to the beauty and the lightheartedness. All of the colors with the awesome kilts, an early fall foliage show in Andrews, NC, and of course, the gorgeous ginger bride give the photos a special vibrance about them. Love adds a certain glow anyway, doesn’t it?!

Charlotte Lifestyle Session: Josh and Elyse

We visited sweet Sawyer on his three month birthday, and he couldn’t have been any cuter! He was a trooper as we went from lifestyle-type photos of him in the bath, getting changed, and snuggling, to the posed photos (can we say “cutest little golfer ever?!”) and group family portraits. Even his few cries were the sweetest little noises. Just steal our hearts, why don’t you, little prince.

As much as we specialize in and advertise for weddings, it’s the people we work with that really steal our hearts. When we get the opportunity to work with a couple during their engagement and wedding, then again during pregnancy and first months as parents, we consider ourselves truly blessed! We sure feel honored to know Josh, Elyse, and now their son Sawyer, and to watch them grow as a family. Charlotte Engagement Session: Kiersten and Greg

We met up with Kiersten and Greg for their engagement session in Charlotte, NC near Ballantyne Corporate Park. These two are so easygoing and relaxed (at least it seemed that way to us!), genuine, romantic, and still found the space to be goofy and climb on a cow. We have proof.

Waxhaw, NC Engagement Session: Chelsea and Nick

We first met Chelsea and Nick at the Bridal Showcase at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden this year, and even that day, we could see a really sweet connection between these two. As fun as wedding planning (and bridal shows!) can be, sometimes that season can add a unique stress to the relationship. If Chelsea and Nick have felt any of that stress, it would be a shock to us. They have all the joy and excitement you’d hope for with an engaged couple, mixed with comfort and ease that shows in the “I get you” looks they exchange.

Maybe it helps that these two went to the same elementary school in New York. Their families moved to the Charlotte area a few years apart, but then they reconnected in high school and started dating in college. If you needed a “meant to be” story today, you found it. Nick says what he loves most about Chelsea is “her ability to turn anything into a joke. She can make me laugh without even meaning to.” (Totally saw that!) And Chelsea says Nick is the one that makes her smile, too. “I could be having a bad day and he is able to turn it around,” she says.

We met these two sweethearts for their engagement session in downtown Waxhaw, so we could incorporate a little piece of home for them. We are so excited for their wedding next June!
